Head of IT Project Portfolio Management

  • The main purposes of the role are (1) overseeing the portfolio of IT projects, (2) providing expert knowledge for the IT projects and (3) monitoring progress and regular reporting on the IT project portfolio status.

  • Ensuring all projects are delivered using a standardized ‘best-practice’ Project Delivery Approach and are delivered within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality.

  • Ensure internal/external project resources have the correct toolsets and processes in place

  • Supervise project managers that are responsible for the successful completion of their IT projects, from the initiation, through the planning, (including scope, schedule, budget, quality,) until the successful delivery.

  • Accountable for the selection, mentoring, development, coaching and performance management of the internal or external project managers and coordinators

  • Capable of driving an operational excellence process, service quality improvement and keeping up to date with innovations

  • Success in this role will be achieved by aligning and working with internal business and external vendors along with peers toward maintaining strong relationships with internal and external business partners

  • In addition, the management of the allocated staff and clear delegation of responsibilities are key

  • Collaborate and engage with peers, IT Business Partners and IT leadership team

  • In partnership with the Business Relationship team develop an ongoing relationship with crossing the borders of vendors and supported products and services


  • MsC or BsC degree in Computer Science or Economics or Business Administration or equivalent graduation

  • Strong project or programme management and excellent organisational skills are fundamental

  • Hands-on experience managing or overseeing mid to large-scale information technology projects

  • 5+ years of professional project management experience

  • Capable of communicating complex, technical topics to a non IT audiences

  • Strong problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

  • Capable of interacting with senior management, and influence decision makers

  • Understanding of project management principles and their application to IT projects

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology

  • Excellent English capability in written and verbal is a must

Preferred Experience:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, or equivalent certification.

  • Experience within large, multinational company

  • Experience in Utility/Energy Industry
